Pasaman Earthquake Latest Data, 18 People Died, 1,765 Damaged Buildings Verified

Jakarta, sumbarsatu.com – Data as of Saturday (5/3/2022) released by the National Disaster Management Agency stated that more than 1,700 houses were verified with the level of damage after the 6.1 magnitude (M) earthquake in West Sumatra Province, which occurred on Friday (25 /3/2022) ago. Another 4,831 are still in the process of repairing the level of damage, all of which are in West Pasaman Regency.

Abdul Muhari, Acting Head of the Center for Disaster Data, Information and Communication, the National Disaster Management Agency, detailed. The damaged houses stated that 653 houses were heavily damaged, 375 were moderately damaged and 737 were lightly damaged. Meanwhile, for public facilities, the command post recorded a total of 41 educational facilities, 20 health facilities, 49 places of worship and 20 government offices. Other damage was in the form of infrastructure. as many as 26 units, 4 damaged bridges and 80 hectares of plantation land.

In the West Pasaman area, as many as 4,831 houses were damaged which still require leveraging the level of damage. Buildings include 27 educational facilities, 13 health facilities, 39 places of worship, 17 government offices, and 26 infrastructure units.

In Pasaman Regency, as many as 1,736 houses were damaged with details, 651 houses were heavily damaged, 355 moderately damaged and 730 lightly damaged. Meanwhile, in public facilities, there were 5 units of RB and RR 4 places of worship, 6 heavily damaged educational facilities and 8 lightly damaged. 7 health facilities were moderately damaged, 2 government offices were heavily damaged.

Fifty Cities Regency, 27 houses were damaged with details, RB 2 houses, 20 hospitals and 5 heavily damaged, while public facilities in the form of places of worship were moderately damaged 1 unit and offices were slightly damaged 1. Agam and Padang Pariaman districts each house was damaged light 1 unit.

"In addition to the latest developments in material losses, the Command Post recorded the impact of fatalities with a total of 18 people dying, 46 seriously injured, 336 lightly injured, 4 missing and 19,221 displaced," said Abdul Muhari, Monday (7/3/2022).

The details of the victims in West Pasaman Regency are as follows: 9 people died, 45 seriously injured, 336 lightly injured and 14,014 evacuated. Those who fled were scattered in 16 refugee posts.

Data from Pasaman Regency states that 9 people died and 4 are missing. The joint team under the coordination of Basarnas is still searching for the missing victim. Meanwhile, in Agam Regency, 1 person was seriously injured.

The two most affected areas, namely West Pasaman and Pasaman Regencies, are still in an emergency response status for natural disasters. The Earthquake Disaster Emergency Management Post continues to provide services to residents affected by the earthquake.

The West Pasaman Regency Government has determined this status until March 10, 2022 through the Pasaman Regent's Decree, as well as for the Pasaman Regency area.
